Oxfordshire County Coach Training Morning

The Abingdon Group, Lower Lodge Riding Centre  Southmoor, OX13 5H on Sunday 22nd October 2023

We hope our training morning offers some interesting demonstrations and advice that will help you with your coaching.

  • 9.30    We will meet for coffee.  Just bring yourselves and appropriate clothing for a morning in the riding school.
  • 10.00     Frances Lochrane .Regional Chair.
  • 10.15    Hannah Sheehan .How Osteopathy can benefit the  horse and the rider.
  • 11.00    Nona Dane. Moving on from walk to trot and benefits to rider

The morning will finish with sandwiches and coffee to give everyone the opportunity to discuss the morning’s session and ask any questions

            This is only for Coaches or Coaches in training, not volunteers.

SOUTH REGION RDA QUALIFIER 2023

SOUTH REGION QUALIFIER for the National Championships. 
Date: Sunday 21 May 2023

Venue: Berkshire College of Agriculture, Hall Place, Burchetts Green, Maidenhead SL6 6QR

Please see the links attached for competitor times and arenas, along with a list of competitors showing numbers and classes entered.

Dressage Arena Walks
The dressage arena walks are at 9.15 to 9.45 in both the indoor and outdoor arenas.

Countryside Challenge
The competitor Countryside Challenge Course Walk is 9.00 to 9.20 and again at 11.00 to 11.15.

The horse/pony unmounted Countryside Challenge Arena walk is 9.20 to 9.40.

The Countryside Challenge competition takes place from 9.45 to 12.45.  There are no individual times, so please present to the steward when ready.

Prize Giving
Prize Giving will take place for all classes in the Indoor Arena at 13.30.

Vet passport check
Passports must be presented to our vet on arrival for checking prior to unloading horses/ponies.

Hats
All hats are to be tagged with the new pink tag at the hat tagging point near the show office (see map)

Numbers
Numbers to be collected by a representative from each group from the number collection point near the show office (see map)

Arts and Crafts Entries
To be brought to the show office by 11am with supporting documents.

Substitute Equines
If you have to substitute any equine, please let me know asap.  If the substitute is made on the day, you must make the vet aware on arrival.  All necessary vaccinations must be correct and up to date.

Photographer
We have photographers covering both dressage arenas and when they are able to they will cover the Countryside Challenge arena.
They do not have on site printing facilities.

I am aware of one rider from South Bucks who has not given permission to be photographed.  Unless I hear from you, I will assume that all other riders have given permission.

Caterers
Roasted’n’toasted will be attending again this year.

NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS14-16 July 2023 at Hartpury College.

VIRTUAL WINTER NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
November (exact date to be confirmed).  Direct Entry with no qualifier.

VACCINATIONS
Horses/ponies competing at the Qualifier and the Championships will be required to be up to date with their flu vaccine and have had a booster within the last year prior to the competition (no longer 6 months as last year) but not within the preceding 7 days of the competition.

DRESSAGE TESTS
Please check the RDA website.

COUNTRYSIDE CHALLENGE
Please note that the course is different for the Qualifier/Championship and the Virtual Championship

SHOW JUMPING
The qualifier for South Region will be virtual via a video entry.  Further details will be available in the schedule.
